What are export plates?
German export plates (Ausfuhrkennzeichen) are one way to legally drive a vehicle out of Germany in suitable circumstances. Their use involves registration, insurance and validity requirements.
Short-term and export plates are not identical
Different German number plate categories have different purposes and restrictions. Do not assume a short-term plate automatically covers an international trip.
Check the legal requirements before driving
Vehicle inspection, documents, insurance territory and exact plate validity matter. Confirm current rules with the responsible German registration authority or a qualified adviser.
Avoid the need to drive the car
With a suitable transporter, the vehicle can be carried rather than driven on German roads. The pickup should still be properly authorised and supported by the purchase paperwork.
How to arrange transport
Tell us where the vehicle is and where it needs to go. We will check the route, available carrier capacity and provide a tailored quote.
- Send both locations: Provide the collection postcode in Germany and delivery postcode in Poland.
- Describe the vehicle: Specify make, model, weight and whether it starts, steers and rolls.
- Arrange vehicle release: Confirm the seller’s phone number, opening hours, keys and any collection reference.
- Confirm the booking: After you accept the quote, we arrange the collection and delivery details.
Need a transport quote?
Send the two postcodes, car model, weight, whether it rolls and starts, and your preferred date. We will prepare a specific quotation.
We confirm the collection and delivery window before accepting the order. Timing depends on the seller’s availability, the carrier’s schedule and the addresses involved.
