Documents you need when buying a car in Germany

Before paying for a vehicle, make sure you know which original documents will be handed over. Missing registration papers can complicate later registration in Poland.

Proof of ownership

Keep a correctly completed sales agreement or invoice with the actual buyer, seller and vehicle identified. Check the VIN and the seller’s authority to sell.

German vehicle documents

Depending on the vehicle, expect Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I and Teil II. Clarify any missing paperwork before paying and before the carrier arrives.

Vehicle condition and history

Ask for inspection reports, servicing records and details of known damage. They help you assess the purchase but do not replace an independent inspection.

Documents at carrier collection

Confirm which papers travel with the vehicle and which are sent separately. Give the driver a collection reference and contact details rather than unnecessary original documents.

How to arrange transport

Tell us where the vehicle is and where it needs to go. We will check the route, available carrier capacity and provide a tailored quote.

  1. Send both locations: Provide the collection postcode in Germany and delivery postcode in Poland.
  2. Describe the vehicle: Specify make, model, weight and whether it starts, steers and rolls.
  3. Arrange vehicle release: Confirm the seller’s phone number, opening hours, keys and any collection reference.
  4. Confirm the booking: After you accept the quote, we arrange the collection and delivery details.

Need a transport quote?

Send the two postcodes, car model, weight, whether it rolls and starts, and your preferred date. We will prepare a specific quotation.

We confirm the collection and delivery window before accepting the order. Timing depends on the seller’s availability, the carrier’s schedule and the addresses involved.
