How to check a used car in Germany before purchase

Look beyond the advert. Compare VIN and documents, examine the car for repairs or damage and consider an independent technical inspection.

Start with the VIN

Compare the VIN visible on the car, the German registration documents and the purchase papers. Explain any mismatch before buying.

Inspect the body and mechanical condition

Look for inconsistent panel gaps, paint repairs, corrosion, leaks, warning lights and unusual engine or gearbox behaviour. If possible, have an independent workshop inspect the car.

Review history and documents

Check available service invoices, inspection reports, mileage records and known damage. Remember that any single online history report can be incomplete.

Prepare for professional collection

Photograph the current condition, confirm accessories and keys, and tell the carrier about faults that affect loading or unloading.

How to arrange transport

Tell us where the vehicle is and where it needs to go. We will check the route, available carrier capacity and provide a tailored quote.

  1. Send both locations: Provide the collection postcode in Germany and delivery postcode in Poland.
  2. Describe the vehicle: Specify make, model, weight and whether it starts, steers and rolls.
  3. Arrange vehicle release: Confirm the seller’s phone number, opening hours, keys and any collection reference.
  4. Confirm the booking: After you accept the quote, we arrange the collection and delivery details.

Need a transport quote?

Send the two postcodes, car model, weight, whether it rolls and starts, and your preferred date. We will prepare a specific quotation.

We confirm the collection and delivery window before accepting the order. Timing depends on the seller’s availability, the carrier’s schedule and the addresses involved.
